About Mudfish

Keith Anderson was born in Richmond, Texas in 1959. He has resided in Houston, Austin, Midland and Odessa, Texas until he finally settled in Wimberley, Texas in 1982. He studied art throughout his early education and for a few years at TSU (when it was SWT), but never achieved his Psychology/Commercial Art degrees there. He fell away from Art for several decades in favor of music, circa 1978, but began to rediscover his love of art in July of 2016

The same exact month he acquired his most amazing friend ever (present humans excluded), a Black Lab named Emma.

He was cutting a Poplar board for something else and the piece he cut off fell to the floor. He picked it up and saw an eye in the wood grain pattern. He drew some pencil lines to accentuate what he saw, made some impressions in the wood to further accentuate those pencil lines, hammered some bb’s and barb-wire lines into it, stained it, poly-sprayed it and had what became the first of many art pieces. He called it “Iris” and refuses to sell it.

His art has evolved exponentially from that first piece of simple impressions in a small piece of wood into an array of depth and resin in wood….and beyond!
